NEISA: Those dog days of summer are over! It's just about that time, when those sleepy college towns start to get the influx of collegiate energy that signifies the start of another fall semester; while the locals grumble about the increased traffic and late night noise violations, the fact is that autumn athletics are in the air. The temperature is still comfortable, the water is still warm, and a bunch of freshmen are about to realize choosing to sail in New England was the best decision they have made in the past 18 years (well, for most of them 18 years).
It's also time for the opening of the fall scheduling season (equally fun, I might add). To review the scheduling process, the drop deadline for any event is the FRIDAY two weeks prior to that event. For instance, if your team wants to drop the Southern 1 at RWU on September 12-13, the drop deadline is August 28. When dropping an event, please email the scheduling coordinator (me) as well as the host college to let them know. Well, enjoy those first few weeks of school, make sure you do a great job welcoming your new freshmen to your team with positive inclusion techniques, and I'll see you all on the water soon! -J ------------------------------------------------ Justin Assad Head Coach University of Vermont Sailing Team ph: 917.846.6852 em: jassad(at)uvm.edu w: www.uvm.edu/sailing please consider our environment before printing.
