*Ian Barrows is named the NEISA COED SAILOR OF THE WEEK* Branford, CT — 10/2/13 Ian Barrows '17 of Yale is named the NEISA Coed Sailor of the Week after winning the NEISA Men’s Singlehanded Championship on his home waters at Yale. Barrows sailed an impressive event, finishing in the top five in 8 of 10 races, and finishing with just 36 points in the 26-boat fleet. Barrows won the event in the last race, securing the first Conference Championship of the 2013 season and qualifying for the 2013 ICSA Men’s Singlehanded National Championship to be held at Sail Newport in Newport, RI, November 8-10.
*Kiss and Salvesen of Yale are named the NEISA WOMEN’S SAILORS OF THE WEEK* Boston, MA— Morgan Kiss '15 and Amanda Salvesen '14 of Yale are named the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week after winning A-division at the Regis Bowl hosted by Boston University. Kiss and Salvesen finished in the top two in seven of the 10 races, including four first place finishes. The duo accumulated just 38 points in the 16 boat fleet, leading Yale to the overall victory. *Around the conference—* Congratulations to Ian Barrows, Joseph Kiss ’17 of Yale, Juan Perdomo ’17 of Harvard, and Michael Zonnenberg ’15 of UVM on finishing first through fourth place at the NEISA Men’s Singlehanded Championship and qualifying for the 2013 ICSA Men’s Singlehanded National Championship. The Tufts Jumbos won the Hood Trophy on their home waters at Mystic Lake by an impressive 52 points over the second place Harvard Crimson. Yale dominated the St. Mary’s Fall Interconference Regatta, winning by an incredible 118 points. UVM won the Chris Loder Trophy hosted by UNH. Tufts won the 15 team Commonwealth Invitational hosted by Mass Maritime and Boston College won the Salt Pond Invite at URI. Go NEISA!
