Hi folks, I'm looking for a virtual machine system to embed in a hardware platform, to quickly extend with new applications. It's a ARM based system (think of it as a Palm running Linux). My memory constraints are pretty tight, so I'm looking for a VM in the 100K-ish sort of range.
One option is flash 7 or flash light, but those are pretty bloated. I'm leaning towards lua, because I can use the tolua to bind to our custom libraries. Yesterday, I tumbled across Haxe+Neko, and wondered about the possibilities. Can somebody in-the-know help with some info? 1) What's the status of Haxe+Neko. Would it be a feasible alternative? 2) What sort of memory requirements would be needed, especially compared against flash 7 (for example)? What other thoughts would you offer? TIA Mike
