Yes I like this one more as well, it seems better.. I just wonder why is PHP on CentOS using the way I made mine - everything in one place. Also you need to include *.load in addition to *.conf in httpd.conf - and all the standard Apache setups I've seen only included *.conf. However I might be wrong here..
