LOL! That's too funny! I dream of Asa being potty trained one day. He'll sit occasionally but screams if we try to get him to do it when it isn't his idea. He has plenty of opportunities to watch his dad and big brother. My hope is that he'll train himself one day. -Bonnie, mommy of Xavier 5 and Asa 2

No drooling in sight so I was clue-less until she let out a wide-mouth hollar one day! Heres my regular letter to family re potty training progress: What KAITY-DID - 2 yr 4 mo Sat Sept 25, 2004 - It can only be called 'duck abuse'. No nice euphemism like 'duck feeding'. Perhaps it was actually 'duck pummeling'. Either way, the ducks got something to eat, Kaity was entertained, and we did our civic duty. Twice in one weekend. Nuf-said. After 3 weeks of us asking her 'do you have to go potty?', to be answered in a disgusted denial, she has finally bought into it. She earned herself over 14 stickers yesterday, 1 for each productive trip to the potty. Over the last few weeks we have made complete fools of ourselves clapping, cheering and generally getting very excited about her cooperation. Now however, it has rebounded on us. When she sees me heading to the bathroom, she runs to stand at my knee, and cheers my successes with "yeah mommy! Aw-wite mommy! Yeah! Aw-wite!". It is positively constipating as I laugh so much. I DO get awarded a sticker, just like her, though I get the flower stickers and she gets Pooh stickers. (see http://community.webshots.com/user/hkburke) We went to the Med Center Friday for my allergy shots, both of us had stickers on our shirts. Experienced moms knew EXACTLY what was going on! Today, after our ritual duck abuse, we stopped by the quilt show, looked around and bought raffle tickets. I washed her hands before going in. She was bored quickly and invoked to the 2yr old's right of being carried. I put her on my shoulders and finished the tour. Near the end she began leaning down and whispering into my ear "'ome" and I knew it was nap time. All 3 of us returned to the show at closing time and got in a bid on a lap quilt at the 1 minute mark. I found 2 books at the library about zoo animals. She knows quite a few of them, but seeing them first in a book should help her enjoy seeing them in October. She's still wearing 24mo clothing (vs 18 mo or 2T). In summer it was easy to put her into 18-24 month size and let the almost short length be ok. Now that it is cooling off, buying winter clothes is providing a challenge. Her inseam is 10-11 inches, 1-3 inches below industry standard for 24 mo. And yet, buying her 18 mo sized pants means they are to small around the butt. So - I get to do some massive hemming! Ebay here I come for new clothes! Tuesday Sept 28 - After the library music program today, I took her downtown for some errands. At the end I hear from her the dreaded phrase - "mommy potty!". She wouldn't go in the store's bathroom and kept insisting on "'ome". SO home we went! She held it all the way and did not loose it in front of the potty as I thought she would. Good Girl! The library program took a start-of-school break for a few weeks and Kaity really missed it. At home she does some of the routines we have learned. Going-potty is usually accompanied by innumerable versions of head-shoulders-knees-and-toes. Pretend play is coming around. At the library today, in the corner with the play kitchen and tables, she orchestrated dinner for herself, babydoll and me. We were told where to sit and were served plastic cookies on plates and empty cups. Ay home she pushes her dolls around in her umbrella stroller. I have ordered her a doll's stroller from Amazon - this ought to be fun to see. 2 yrs old is SUCH fun!!! --- You are currently subscribed to may02 as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% --- You are currently subscribed to may02 as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
