Hi! I have two herniated discs as well. My littlest was rather new when the
pain just exploded. I don't know what is available in your area but before
settling on surgery you might wish to explore IDE. I don't remember what it
stood for but as a nursing mom is was a great alternative for me. It was the
only way I could avoid surgery at the time and thus continue my happy
nursing. I received an MRI as well and some X-rays prior to treatment. The
IDE was done by a chiropractor and as I recall it lasted about a month. I
felt great when it was over and have not needed an Rx for back pain since! I
also have a microwavable heating pad that is often available in the mall. It
smells of relaxing herbs, heats in two min. , and is quite comforting.
Best Wishes!
Pamela Hanson
