A sailing friend from St. Pete came up and did a Mac race with us
(long ago on a J105). He brought along some fiber optic-illuminated
velcro-on telltales. I think the name was Lumi-tales. They ran on
watch batteries. When its getting dark you insert the batteries and
slap them onto the jib luff. I imagine these would work well on an
F-boat spinnaker luff, but you'd have to douse to put them on and
rehoist.
