My stepson, Alan Michael, is set to have his scoliosis surgery
tomorrow. The degree of curvature is severe, and the pediatric orthopaedic
surgeon is hoping to correct it from 82 degrees to 40 degrees. It will
take 8+ hours, with screws, rods, wires, bone grafts, blood loss......it is
a big, risky surgery.
Please include Alan, an innocent child, in your thoughts. And in your
prayers, if you do so.
My husband, Alan's dad, seems very nervous...I am, too.
He may be hospitalized for 3 weeks.....Alan is Emma & Kaysa's
brother.
