Oracle co-president Charles Phillips said that the deal will
likely be closed by Dec. 30, after which PeopleSoft
employees will be reporting to their new Redwood Shores

It's an early Christmas for Oracle--and PeopleSoft
shareholders. The two companies announced early Monday
morning a definitive merger agreement whereby Oracle will
acquire PeopleSoft for $26.50 per share, or $10.3 billion.
