Microsoft buys tools for fighting spyware Microsoft Corp.'s
announcement last week that it has purchased a small vendor of
antispyware tools serves to highlight the growing seriousness of the
spyware problem for users, according to security analysts. Microsoft
said it acquired New York-based Giant Company Software Inc. for an
undisclosed amount and plans to use the company's intellectual
property and technology assets to provide Windows users with new tools

to find a geekier electric shaver! I've been using Braun products for
a few years now... after having gone through Norelcos and Remingtons.
Once you go with a self-cleaning Braun, you can never go back. Its new

Everyone's seen or experienced an aquarium screensaver, but
imagine if that aquarium screensaver were actually an interactive
arcade game. You're an individual fish that has to eat smaller fish to
survive while avoiding bigger fish that want to eat you. That's what
Feeding Frenzy is all about. We were skeptical about this particular
game, but minutes after installing it, we were hooked!... [Continued]

Activity is constantly taking place on your screen, but how are
you going to preserve it? The Print Screen key is still an option,
although it has technically been dead for ages due to its limited
functionality. It had such good intentions, however, we demand a lot
more from our screen capture tools these days. We want to be able to
specify specific regions to capture, and we want the process to be
painless and... [Continued]

My article on helping seniors attack the problem of desktop
clutter drew by far the most responses to any article I've written on
the subject of helping seniors. This could mean that desktop clutter
is considered by readers to be more of a problem than I anticipated,
or, more likely, it indicates that I left out critical material. First
off, about twenty readers wrote to object to my statement "there is no

One of the security features included with Windows XP that you
have more than likely heard about is Internet Connection Firewall or
ICF. It is a built in firewall component that is designed to protect
your computer from unsolicited traffic. So if your computer is
connected to the Internet, it is recommended that you enable it. If
you are running Service Pack 2 for Windows XP, this component will now
be enabled by default. You... [Continued]
