FineGround, which provides Web application delivery tools, says its Application Delivery Dashboard will provide one interface for customers to view data from FineGround's AppScope Performance Monitor, Condenser optimization tool and AppScreen application firewall. FineGround packages its products both as software and as an appliance, and the dashboard software would run on top of the other products. "Customers asked us to tie together the relevant page views, URLs, response time and more data into one interface so they could more quickly get an idea of the business relevance of application performance," says Jay Mellman, vice president of marketing at FineGround. He says the dashboard will let customers see application performance not just at the URL level, but also at the overall service level. According to the function the end user is performing, such as ordering online, the software will group multiple pages comprising that overall function into one unit and report performance based on all the elements, eliminating the need for IT managers to aggregate the performance data on a page-by-page basis. Plus, the product also comes with a point-and-click wizard to group transactions and build the business service that customers need to manage. The software provides tools to let users combine, say, URL, page view and application response time data (which FineGround already collects) into groupings that represent a business transaction. Lastly, the dashboard can provide service-level reports and overviews of IT performance, which can be drilled into to get the specific details from the multiple FineGround products. Scheduled for general availability in January, the Application Delivery Dashboard will be included as part of FineGround's AppScope Performance Monitor and as part of the entire Enterprise Application Delivery suite. The add-on will be free as an upgrade to current customers.
