bearer of bad news from the legal front, I am thrilled to have some
good news to report for a change. The old-fashioned shrinkwrap license
appears to have suffered from what may well be a mortal wound.
Microsoft, Symantec, Adobe, CompUSA, Best Buy, and Staples have agreed
in the settlement of a California lawsuit to change their ways, and

Are you fascinated by submarines like we are? Most likely, the
same things that got us interested in creating and building minisubs
in 1986, got you interested in owning one. Part of it is the mystique
of submarines, the thrill of traveling in the vast unknown of the
ocean's depths. Nothing compares with the excitement of flying your
submersible around coral reefs, over a ship wreck, or around some rock
outcroppings. Piloting a submarine is... [Continued]

Stem Cell Researcher Makes Paralyzed Rats Walk So far, not a
single person has been helped by human embryonic stem cells. But in
cramped university labs, a young neurobiologist with movie star good
looks, a Carl Sagan-like fondness for the popular media and an
entrepeneur's nose for profits is getting tantalizingly close. Hans
Keirstead is making paralyzed rats walk again by injecting them with
healthy brain cells sussed from a reddish soup of human embryonic...

Certainly an argument for buying up domains in bulk I suppose, the
recent eBay purchase of Rent.com is one of the more juicy acquisitions
to be sure. The BBC has given details that leads me to believe that
this is a deal that would have made Donald Trump proud. A transaction
of $385m in stocks and $30m in cash is definitely enough to get my
blood pumping, how about yours?... [Continued]
