Universal Boxing Manager - Winter Wolves' Universal
Boxing Manager is, as the name might clearly imply (unless you've
taken as many blows to the noggin as Mike Tyson), a boxing manager
simulation. Manage up to six different boxers, each one with different
stats and skills, in seventeen weight categories. Search and hire new
talents from a huge database of over one-thousand unique boxers.
Arrange fights, buy new training tools, hire better medical staff, and
watch the boxers fighting for real in a top view of the ring! You can
customize your manager by age, nationality and various skills that
really make the game different each time you play it! What are you
waiting for? Go for the title fight now! Before Mike Tyson bites your
ear off. [Download

One of the strengths of Unix-like systems such as Linux is the
ability to easily customize them and automate tasks using scripts.
However, shell scripts usually need to run in a terminal window and
thus don't integrate well with the modern desktop environments most
people use. Kommander tries to remove this burden by allowing users to
easily create graphical applications using any scripting language of
their choice.... [Continued]

Looks like this is turning out to be a really bad year for those
poor folks at SCO. As usual, they have blamed their reasons for the
consistent financial losses on the "major drop in the company's effort
to license its Unix intellectual property". Right, that must be it.
Well even if it is, they have a leak in their financial boat that
desperately needs to be plugged asap before these losses start to
snowball... [Continued]

Since Torvalds and Sun have often been at odds with each other, it
is of little surprise that he has some sort of a 'wait and see'
attitude regarding Solaris and its most recent innovations. Hardly
suspected of having any sort animosity towards Sun of course, Torvalds
appears to be taking a real independent view while obviously remaining
loyal to his baby - Linux.... [Continued]

Is Open Source software for Windows really a good thing? Perhaps
it's little more than an enabler to keep people from having to switch
to a more secure OS like Linux? This article at aseigo.blogspot.com
prompts all of us to really look at the good as well as the bad that
can come from using Open Source software on the Windows OS.... [Continued]

One of the first things I researched before making the permanent
move to running Linux is the availability of software capable of
dealing with my digital camera. If I wouldn't be able to download and
manage photos, then there wouldn't be much point in making the switch.
gtkam and gThumb both proved adequate, and I haven't bothered looking
beyond them. However, for some reason gThumb has decided it doesn't
want to run on my desktop.... [Continued]
