The Aviator Martin Scorsese's re-creation of the life of Howard Hughes offers no new insights but is vivid and beautiful. Meet the Fockers Broader and blunter than its predecessor, this slapstick sequel is almost as much fun. Fat Albert This live action take on the classic '70s cartoon is good, clean fun, but it doesn't surpass the original. The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou The story sinks about halfway through Wes Anderson's whimsical lark about a seafaring film crew. The Phantom of the Opera This ornate version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical is only fitfully successful, but always watchable. Postmen in the Mountains This simple, beautiful film is about a veteran postman who travels on foot through the mountains of Hunan. Darkness This film was not reviewed by The Dallas Morning News.
