Betty and Thomas A. Jones, parents of Cowboys running back Julius Jones, have come a long way from their 1,200 square-foot home for nine.

How two boys from one family in Big Stone Gap, Va., (population 5,906) grew up to become starting running backs in the NFL is a story of great sacrifice. The parents of Cowboys running back Julius Jones and his brother Thomas, who plays for Chicago, worked in the local mines and a variety of other jobs to raise their seven children. Their mother's hands still have the callouses to prove it.
