Unbelievable...dealer should put it on no charge. I would let John English CEO 
of Lotus USA know immediately. Finally have a volume (in comparison to the 
Esprit) car to sell and don't even know how to act.

Most of the high end navigation systems have a backup dead reckoning system
in addition to the GPS....the speedoemeter sensor. The newer ones also look
at the steering angle sensor, accelerometer and ABS sensors to compensate
for wheel slip, but even those get off the farther you go.

Ah, of course, the no-bumper waiver. That makes sense.

Hmmm...anyone have any experience complaining about dealers
to Lotus USA? (I'm the one who originally posted that his
dealer's service guy charged a surprise $140 to put the plate
on.) Think it's worth the effort?
