Alistair Cockburn writes in, "Oh, Yes, Absolutely, Definitely,
Certainly !" ;-)

However, the real difficulty is that the "most popular", as in, "most
frequently found in use" is the unnamed one, the one that the people
just sort of fell into or rolled on their own, and has no name or
description about it. The number of books on a thing != the number of
implementations (let along successful implementations) of the
thing... always assuming that there is a 'thing' there (just nipping
Ron's next append about whether XP is a 'thing').

XP is definitely the easiest to study in the literature, though,
since it has been studied and written about the most. Scrum certainly
has been generating a lot of text lately, so there should be leads on
that. I haven't worked out exactly how to tell if anyone is
practicing Crystal or not (it's all I can do to get anyone to put
bits of it into their head ... always assuming there's an 'it' there,
etc.).

The elephant-thing (always assuming there is a thing there) is
looking more and more similar to itself the more people find new
angles to look at it with .... (complete with personality differences)
