No Excuses for No Signatures 

We all owe thanks to Peter Torr for bringing the issue of 
digitally signed downloads back to our attention. Microsoft 
loves them, but they make even more sense for open-source 
projects. 

With open-source projects anyone can make a modified copy. 
Combine that with the fact that these files could be 
appearing from almost anywhere and it's clear that open 
source needs some sort of system to let users verify the 
authenticity of programs they download.
