Hi all, We drove down from Ohio to Long Key, Florida on Sunday/Monday. (with thousands of others from the North). Traffic was terrible and it took around 26 hours, which is about 4 hours longer than it should of taken. The temps are good, but the winds are a little much for those of us who aren't used to getting much wind. They've had small craft advisories out every day, but the sea doesn't look all that rough. Winds are around 20-25 kts, with gust. Yesterday we left the sailboat on the trailer and took the kayaks out at Long Key State Park. The winds seemed milder today and we got the P18 out for a great ride. Had one of us on the trapeze most of the time. On the ride back in, we stuffed a bow and had water over most of the tramp and the boat pointed down about 45 degrees. Luckily it stopped cold and stayed upright. After my wife climbed in from the bow of the boat (she stayed relatively dry), we were off again. I posted some photos of the trip on my pbase site. http://www.pbase.com/jmhoying/keys04 Warning: not much for sailing related photos.
