A) RF Optimization Engineer-ERICSSON 2G/GSM Network -20 posts

� Optimization Knowledge � Knowledge of radio optimization
and the
procedures involved in Radio tuning for ERICSSON
� Good understanding of optimization - Knowledge about the main
Key
Performance Indicators for radio network performance and knows how
different network changes influence the radio quality
� Performs radio quality benchmarking � perform drive test
and
thorough analysis of the result.
� Good knowledge of radio network features � e.g. Synthesizer
Hopping,DTX, Power control and others
� Knowledge about the call path process � e.g. MO/MT call
setups and
Connection etc
� Discusses optimization strategies with operators
� Basic understanding of RF Plannning
Knowledge on GPRS and EDGE will be an added advantage.

B) RF Planning Engineer
=======================
� Map Data - Knowledge on Map data and its usage in planning
� Traffic/Capacity Dimensioning - Knowledge about traffic theory
and the factors affecting the capacity of the network.
� Coverage Dimensioning & Design - Understands how to
dimension and design a network in order to provide the requested
coverage for each of the geographic regions of the network.
� Radio Wave Propagation - knowledge of different wave propagation
models and Knowledge about antennas and antenna near part products
� Site Selection - Global knowledge about the requirements when
selecting sites, not only in the areas of RF but also in the areas of
infrastructure, transmission and others.
� Drive Testing, Performing & Result Analysis - Knowledge on
how to perform field measurements for optimization testing. Knowledge
on how to process the data after performing the drive testing
functions and how to interpret the results.
� Network Planning Tools - Knowledge of and capability to use
Planning tools needed for own field of work. This category of tools
could be used for post-processing and analysis of live data, but
their primary purpose is Network Planning.
� Basic Understanding of Optimization
Senior Engineer should have 3 years and above of experience. Engineer
below 3 years of experience. Knowledge on GPRS and EDGE will be an
added advantage.

� Basic telecom and Transport techniques
� Should have overall knowledge about Transmission
Techniques - Media, Line Coding, Modulation and Source Coding.
Transmission Impairments and Transmission Processing such as echo
cancelling and error correction. Digital Hierarchies; PDH, SDH and
SONET. ATM Technology and Networking. IP Technology and
Networking
� Should have overall knowledge about Transmission Products
and usage -
� Point to Point Microwave radio links.
� Point to Multi Point Microwave equipment.
� Muxes and cross connector equipment.
� Fibre optic products.
� XDSL equipment.
� Coaxial cables portfolio.
� Traffic, Topology and Media Planning - Has an overall
understanding
of choice of media and how they are related to capacity demand. Has
overall knowledge about capacity demands for different systems.
� Quality of Service and Network Performance Specification should
have overall knowledge of the physical network performance (Quality
and Availability) objectives for different parts of the Transmission
Network, with respect to carried services and ITU-T G-series
Recommendations.
� Microwave Network Design has knowledge about basics of microwave
Point-to-Point systems, PDH and SDH systems, protection and diversity
schemes
� Fiber-Optic Network Design has overall knowledge about basics
of
fiberoptic
engineering and path loss calculations, dimension point-to-point
fiberoptic system and understands ring topology.
� Traffic and Capacity Planning (DCN)
� Field Survey and Map Knowledge Refers to field site survey from
the
transmission network design perspective, such as LOS (Line of Sight)
and Path Verification.
� Transmission Site Selection Has general knowledge on performing
a
site survey for the site selection process.
Senior Engineer should have 3 years and above of experience. Engineer
below 3 years of experience. Knowledge on GPRS and EDGE will be an
added advantage.
E) BTS Tester
==============
� Commissioning and acceptance of GSM Radio equipment.
� Check compliance � perform compliance of the installation
and
ensure that it is brought into line if necessary.
� Hardware testing �
� Power up the equipment. Configure the equipment. Note the serial
numbers of the equipment and the software versions.
� Run tests and measurements according to the equipment's user
manual.
� Complete the test report on site.
� Run the contractual acceptance tests on the equipment with the
customer or its representative.
� Draft the acceptance test document on the site.
� Testing on the Functionality of the Radio Equipment
� Bring the Base station into service
� Communicate with BSC integrators for integration purposes
� Check the availability of Transmission
� Documentation preparation
Senior Engineer should have 3 years and above of experience. Engineer
below 3 years of experience. Knowledge on GPRS and EDGE will be an
added advantage.
F) BSC Tester
==============
� Commissioning and acceptance of BSC equipment.
� Check compliance � perform compliance of the installation
and
ensure that it is brought into line if necessary.
� Hardware testing �
� Power up the equipment. Configure the equipment. Note the serial
numbers of the equipment and the software versions.
� Run tests and measurements according to the equipment's user
manual.
� Complete the test report on site.
� Run the contractual acceptance tests on the equipment with the
customer or its representative.
� Draft the acceptance test document on the site.
� Testing on the Functionality of the BSC Equipment
� Bring the BSC into service
� Communicate with Base Station and MSC integrators for
integration
purposes
� Check the availability of Transmission
� Documentation preparation
Senior Engineer should have 3 years and above of experience. Engineer
below 3 years of experience. Knowledge on GPRS and EDGE will be an
added advantage.
G) MSC Tester
=============
� Commissioning and acceptance of MSC equipment.
� Check compliance � perform compliance of the installation
and
ensure that it is brought into line if necessary.
� Hardware testing �
� Power up the equipment. Configure the equipment. Note the serial
numbers of the equipment and the software versions.
� Run tests and measurements according to the equipment's user
manual.
� Complete the test report on site.
� Run the contractual acceptance tests on the equipment with the
customer or its representative.
� Draft the acceptance test document on the site.
� Testing on the Functionality of the MSC Equipment
� Bring the MSC into service
� Integration with other network element
� Documentation preparation
Senior Engineer should have 3 years and above of experience. Engineer
below 3 years of experience. Knowledge on GPRS and EDGE will be an
added advantage.
H) Transmission Tester Commissioning
====================================
� Check compliance of the installation and ensure that it is
brought
into line if necessary.
� Power up the equipment.
� Configure the equipment.
� Note the serial numbers of the equipment and the software
versions.
� Point the antennas.
� Check the link budget.
� Run tests and measurements according to the equipment's user
manual.
� Complete the test report on site.
� Run the contractual acceptance tests on the equipment with the
customer or its representative.
� Draft the acceptance test document on the site.
Have at least 3 to 5 years of Testing and commissioning experience
of the Microwave system. Experience in SDH and PDH is essential and
Fiber
optics will be added value.
I) Installation Supervision
============================
� Have experience in Rollout of Mobile network and managing
contractors
� Knowledge on prevention and safety plan if appropriate.
� Receive and take the inventory of the equipment if this is
contractual.
� Capable of Scheduling, manage and supervise the operations for
installing the GSM and radio equipment for Customers. Ensure that
these operations are carried out within the deadlines set and
participate in them using the level of resources required and to the
level of quality recognised by the Customer.
� Experience in giving technical instructions and act as the
interface with the subcontractors.
� Capable of validating the work done by the subcontractors
(approval of ad hoc documents).
� Resolve all technical problems encountered by subcontractors or
the
Customer and take responsibility for the smooth running of the
installation in line with the procedures.
� Check that sites are returned to their proper state, enclosure
access,removal of packaging, etc.
� Capable in supervising the drafting of site implementation
documents (As built) if contractual.
Senior Engineer should have 3 years and above of experience. Engineer
below 3 years of experience. Knowledge on GPRS and EDGE will be an
added advantage. Should be able to supervise the Transmission network
implementation as well.
J) Site Surveyor
================
� Have a good understanding in topography,
� Skills in radio transmission and have a good knowledge of
equipment
installation in particular.
� Capable in producing report and plot Block plan of each site
oriented towards geographic North, showing:
� points with dimensions exact position of aerials with
orientation
� buildings
� parcelling of the site with dimensions
Need to have understanding of installation of site, to produce
report and
drawing:
a) Position of existing cable entry plate and cable tray.
b) Position of power incomer (DC) (AC).
c) Location and characteristic of the existing equipment.
d) Location of equipment to be installed (checked with the
customer).
e) Position of new cable trays to be installed.
f) Information useful for installing microwave link or LMDS
equipment.
g) Photographic record
h) Profile plots by usage of Autocad
Should have 3 years of experience in Site Survey and understanding
on GSM and Microwave installations.
