It might also be useful to know whether there was a demo version of something available, and if so in what way it would be limited. And finally, it would also be of help to know what platform a give software package was aimed at, and perhaps even be able to restrict the listings to just those platforms chosen. If I'm running linux here (which I am) I'm not going to be interested in software that's only available for certain versions of windoze (which some are). Otherwise it's a waste of my time.
