People prefer fivers because they have tons more space and are much easier to 
tow.  Most people who fulltime in trailers do it in fifth wheels. The have 
tons of basement storage, which is a big plus of course.  Many of them have 
three or four slides which makes them the size of a small apartment.

Of course the ones with all the slides need a medium duty truck to pull them.

I fell in love with a fifth wheel last winter, a Crossroads Silverado... it 
had four slides and the living room was up in the front instead of in the back.

Interestingly Thor, the parent Co. of Airstream just bought Crossroads.... it 
would be a real dilemma for me if they put the Airstream name on the 
Silverado.
