Were it me, I would simply tap into the wire from the ignition switch to the coil.  I wouldn't bother with a fuse...let the original circuit's fuse cover it.  If you have a regular coil, just use the wire on it's +, or pos. terminal.  If it has numbers, instead of +/- signs, pull one off the coil and check it with a test light.  If it's hot, that's your baby.  If it's NOT hot, check the other wire (you don't have to pull it off, just touch it with the probe on your trouble light) it had darn well better be hot (one of them HAS to be hot with the key on...the other will go on and off with the points, assuming you have points).

If you have a fancy electronic black box, and no coil or points, you'll just have to poke a logical wire or two, until you find one which goes on and off with the ignition switch.  This way, the choke will only be on when you're running the engine, you can't forget and leave it on, and you can't forget to TURN it on when you're initiating your cold start.

Once you have it installed and working, be sure to re-check it after the engine has reached operating temperature...you want to be sure it shuts itself all the way off.  There should be a way to rotate the assembly to adjust it to function the way you want it to.

Hope that helped more than confused...
