Anyone thinking about engine swaps should get the Jan 2005
(Vol 15 No. 1) issue of Racecar Engineering and see the
article "Taking the K seriously" before making any decision.
This article shows that some serious problems are caused
by inappropriate replacement parts and some were other problems
but all are now known and solved.
It says a modestly prepared K-series will match Duratec
at 23 percent less engine weight.
I'm not currently planning on an engine change for Elan
or Europa, I'm just passing this info on.
