Glenn et al,
I just reread my post and can see why you are puzzled. Let me try again and
will send photos in separate e-mail
This is a continuous line system. Attatch one end of the control line to the
anchor post on the double block on the port end of the traveller. Reeve the
line through the traveller car and lead to a turning block attatched to a "U"
bolt where the the cap shroud tensioners at the port ama/aka junction attatch.
It does not carry any significant load. I tried both a swivel and non-swivel
block and prefer the non-swivel as it keeps the line from twisting. They're
about 2" sheaves.
Lead the line back to a cheek block set 6-8 inches aft of the aft cabin hatch.
Set it on centerline and be sure to check clearances of tiller. I set mine too
close to the hatch and it occasionally "clunks" the tiller tamer.
Then lead to an identical turning block at the same location on the sta'bd side
and back to the traveller car, reeve the line and attatch at the sta'bd end of
the traveller. This is a mirror immage of the port side. Leave about 6 feet
of extra length, you will want this after sailing a while to get the right
amount of slack to make the opperation easy. Too much slack and the lines are
all over and too little and it is hard to adjust.
If the boat is unfolded on the water, locating the appropriate attatchment
points is easy. I did mine folded after eyeballing it one day after sailing.
At first I made the line too short and had to splice an extension (the violet
colored spectra in the photo) hence my comment about some extra length.
To release, a quick upwards snap of the line pops it out of the car fairlead
cam cleat. To travel up, just pull the appropriate line from either side.
Set up this way I have zero problems folding.

Marv, I also included a pic of the tensioning marks on the cap shroud
adjusters. You will notice these are 8:1(see the stainless wire deadheading to
the "U" bolt I added).
 Fair winds,

Martyn,

Im trying to envision your traveler line path. Does it run from the winward
traveler fairlead to the middle of the ama then to the aft lifting eye on the
winward side then to the leeward traveler fairlead? Or from the winward
lifting eye to the leeward lifting eye and then back to the leeward traveler
fairlead? How do you move the traveler line across when tacking? Are your
blocks on the ama and the lifting eye snatch blocks? Also, how hard is it to
pull the traveler line into the cam cleat from the ama, or do you instead have
a cleat on the ama?

Thanks for your help. Im trying to set up my boat for offshore cruising and
this is one improvement Id like to make.>>
