Howdy, Y'all.
Richard really stirred up things with this one.  He has some of y'all 
really arguing among yourselves over this topic.

I'll bet Possum will have fun when he reads all these posts.

These horses are "wild"  Even the BLM does not know how many of them 
there are.

They have to keep the populations under control.  If they didn't, many 
of the horses would starve because there is not enough grass to feed 
all of them.

The natural predators of the horses have been controlled so well that 
they cannot keep the herds thinned.

Once Again, these horses are "wild"  They are not exactly what Roy 
Rogers roped and tamed in the movies.  They are scrawny, mean 
tempered, and not what someone needs as a pet.  They "do not" eat out 
of your hand.  Instead, they would probably eat your hand, or bite it 
anyway.  One horse will eat as much grass as three full grown cows, 
and give very little in return.

In today's economy, with everything else happening in the world, I 
don't think they have much of a chance.
