I am encountering the same problem (neo4j-shell not echoing commands, although it will execute commands) on Mac OS X "Mountain Lion", with neo4j 2.0.0 installed through Homebrew. I note that neo4j-shell is not creating a .shell_history file in the directory in which I start it. I have started it in a directory to which I have full access (my home directory). Just in case, I also tried staring neo4j-shell using 'sudo'. In neither case did echoing work, and in neither case was a .shell_history file written.
Does anyone have any ideas of what may be causing the failure? A colleague who installed the same version, also through Homebrew, is not encountering this problem, and we have been unable to determine what is different in my configuration from hers. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Neo4j" group.
