Yes I'm using HA/clustering mode and I only write to master. 

I interact with neo4j from Eclipse through the jdbc-neo4j driver. 

I'm also trying to fix the issues with OS config modifying tcp_syn_retries 
with "echo 6 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_syn_retries"; could that help?
