At least you're holding steady. I'm regressing. I use to do fancy lawn
displays, but still an order of magnitude below this stuff. I started
in the 70's. Back then I had to make my own circuits for chase lights,
starting with neon ring counters driving TRIACs, which in turn, turned
ON the incandescent light strings. Later, I switched to TTL logic
(driving those same TRIACs). Now you can by a string of lights with a
3 or 4 channel controller, with multiple sequence options, for 10
bucks, or less. Under 5 bucks, after Xmas. It seems so futile.

Of course, these extreme boys, use fancy controllers, that are hooked
up to their PCs. Here are some past efforts, for comparison:
