Hello. Regarding these Edge-Lit Displays, i actually think it is possible do go the DIY route.
I saw someone who made them himself, but it was made by hand (the numerals) and looked like shit :-O If anyone could give me some good head-on shots of the "font" and something to scale, it should't be a problem to engrave some acrylic sheets (like the original ones) and then place SMD LED's on a PCB at the bottom for edge-lighting the acrylic, should work (especially with the built to purpose edge-lit white LED's (found in various LED backlights for LCD's) I have access to a PCB router, and it would be pretty easy to "engrave" the plastic pieces, i just want the "genuine" font seen on old NLS equipment etc. :-) // Per. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "neonixie-l" group.
