I thought about going solar as well.  Perfect roof for it as well,  except 
Seattle area.
 
It was cost prohibitive though.  :(
Meanning, I have the cash to pay for it, but it would take 9-10 years to  
repay for itself with all the rebates and incentives, but that doesn't 
include  the possible maintenance and repairs.
 
An investment I am in is paying 14% and with compounded interest (solar you 
 are forced to do this since you can't take out what you make back), it 
take less  than 5 years.
 
Has anyone found a true reason to get solar other than the kewlness of  
having it on the roof?  (Meaning a differnent reason that being forced  because 
of location - middle of dessert)

Did play with nixies some, added a IR motion  detector to my nixie clock so
