I must not have posted my first response correctly! I think it only went to the original poster. I work in industrial maintenance in a food factory. We scrap out all kinds of neat materials. A lot of stainless steel and aluminum. Right now in the aluminum hopper are some extruded aluminum air cylinders. The internal bores are around 2-2.5 inches. Stroke around 8 inches. The nice thing is the outside extrusion is square with rounded corners and slots on each side for mounting mag reed switches etc. They look very nice and are anodized silver. Something like this would make a very nice futuristic case. The ends are bolted on with allen head cap screws and are removable. It might be good to check out industrial surplus and scrap places. Also look on E-bay. I have thought of setting up my own web page to sell stuff like this for projects. I can purchase these materials for scrap metal prices from work. A lot of stuff just gets thrown out too. It is terrible to work in maintenance if you are a pack rat!!! Tim Laing
