Especially the base. When I first joined this group (July 2003) I wasn't too keen on either plastic, nor showing the electronic guts (okay with mechanical guts), but this guy, and a few others, have shown some exceptional creativity. It comes off quite nicely, in my opinion. I'd personally would have used different colors for the LEDs. Neon orange is a warm color, and I would have also used only 'warm' color LEDs (Red, Orange, Yellow). I know there's still a novelty about blue or white (or any other GaN LEDs: True green thru UV) LEDs. But I personally find that blue clashes with orange. His schematic is pretty colorful. A little too colorful, for my taste.
