If this is your own design, I have a few suggestions:
1.Use PWM dimming when it's darker inside to effectively decrease on
time.
2.Every once in a while, turn on all cathodes of the nixie tube (ie,
if your left hour tube only ever shows 0, 1, or 2, every once in a
while cycle through 3-9) to avoid cathode poisoning.

Beyond that, I have no idea how the tubes will perform constant on.
