I worked in a Television CRT factory for several years in the sealing and
pumping, getterflash, highvoltage processing, ageing, final test and
matching. (I made some vacuume tubes of my own at work using parts of CRT
electron guns. I pumped them down flashed them and aged them. I have never
gotten to the point of trying to get them to light up) When the plant
closed I scrounged a lot of equipment. So I have the gear to set up a
good vacuum system and the knowledge of how to use it. I also have some
dead nixies that I could donate for parts. When I get some time WHEN!!! I
want to get a shop set up to try making and pumping down my own homemade
tubes and try some nixie type projects. My cousin had her own Neon shop
in Minneapolis MN. and I bought her neon plant. I did some glass blowing
years ago. I have a BFA in ceramics so I have been around kilns for
several years. So I want to put this all together one day. Who knows
when... So if the people looking at making nixies want to contact me
