Yeah, cold cathode gas triggers are pretty slow, so are most cold
cathode tubes. Its pretty amazing that they got the EZ10B upto 1MHz. A
krytron may work, if you can get your hands on one. A more realistic
option, is to use a common vacuum tube (ECC82/12AU7, or ECC91/6J6).
The 6J6 was designed for RF & IF apps, so switching at 1MHz is not a
problem for that tube, and they sell for dirt.
