Hi,

I would not bother with the starting price. List a set of four at $USD 1 starting price and they will go for at least one thousand.

But you made the mistake to tell us you had more of these so our neonixie people might be reasonable ;-)

Would you mind posting a picture of one of these original boxes?

Briefly, - I acquired a significant number of these at the estate sale of a ham operator who was
apparently quite the collector of nixies. Fortunately, most people see nixies as being "old
dusty tubes" and simply move on. So I was able to pick up the lot of his nixie (and
numitron!!! and ultronic!!) collection for $200, which includes many F9020AA's in the their
original carton with gray packing cotton shrouds. I couldn't possibly use all of these myself and
am pondering offering them on ebay so others can similarly enjoy their peculiar oval form-factor
and generous digit size. With the recent "tube inflation" (which I find to be just
crazy) the question in my mind is when to offer them and at what starting bid. Looking at the
price curve for Z568M's, GR47's B-7971's, B-8971's, and now even the IN-18's, over the past
decade, it appears that prices are still rising rapidly.

So what is a reasonable starting bid for them? 100? 500? or 1000 even?

I know that several have mentioned that the oval form-factor of the 9020 is a
bit quirky, but to the credit of this tube's aesthetics, the numbers are very
well proportioned and quite elegant (unlike the lanky aspect ratio of the
Rodan's digits). I am looking forward to making a six digit 9020 clock. This
will be a large piece.

Hi Ulysses,
I also would be interested in that information ;-)

Send more info on this recent discovery, please... (please!)

   I would too. ;-)

Out curiosity, do you think that this zeal to purchase rare tubes extends
to the similarly-rare F9020AA? We may see a bunch of them becoming
available on ebay soon, owing to the recent discovery of a large lot at an
estate sale.
