Hello,

I am a competent electronics hobbyist, but entirely new to tubes and
Nixies.

I have acquired some Burroughs B6844A tubes, but I'm having trouble
getting them to light properly.

Using the voltages and anode resistor combinations recommended in the
Burroughs datasheet (170V/15K, 250V/47K, 300V/75K), some digits light
consistently, some vary between lighting and just having the lead-in
wire glow, and some only have the lead-in wire glowing.

Increasing the voltage seems to increase the chance of a particular
digit striking in favour of the wire, but I cannot get all digits to
light.

I have not tried combinations of resistor/voltage apart from those
suggested by Burroughs in case I make things worse.

Are my tubes dead, or is there a hope for them?

I don't think cathode poisoning is an issue, as when the digits do
light, they light brightly and evenly.

Thanks,

James
