There are lots of tutorials online, do a google search for using an oscilloscope. Build a 555 oscillator or a transistor multivibrator and start poking around, you'll get the hang of it. When it comes to more advanced features like various trigger modes, delayed sweep, etc, refer to the manual for the scope.
