For that kind of step-up, I'd probably either run an ordinary step-down power transformer in reverse, or use a switcher with a voltage multiplier. I found some nice ready-made 600V modules a while back on the 'bay, but they all got used in dekatron projects, and I didn't see any more of 'em.
