Back around May of 2010 I had asked around on here if
anyone had a few NL-6844A nixies for sale.

At that time, a few of you wrote back saying that there
were a few available.

Sorry that I have taken so long to follow up on this,
but if anyone has some of these (one fellow, I forget who
now even had set a few aside for me at that time).

It's a long story, but the short version is I built a clock
that has 6 of them sticking out the front of it, all built
in a clear case. I had a modest few of these tubes only
to find out that certain sockets tend to break them!!!

So, I ended up with just enough NL-6844A tubes to get by.

Has anyone else ever ran into this issue with certain
kinds of those sockets having pins which restrict the tube pins
and put such force on them so as to cause the glass of the
tube base to break? I found out later by carefully examining
two different versions of that socket that the good ones
have nice flexible forked pins and the tube-killer sockets
have pins that are much thicker and more cylindrical. less
like a nice fork.

Thanks, Chuck Richards
