Hi there, i have just bought few new in box Z560M tubes, and i was quite
surprised when i found one completely coated tube. I havent seen any Z560M
by RTF that would have been completely coated, only those that are coated
on top. The coating is much lighter, and the cathodes are little bit
thiner, and one interesting thing, it has the *4* cathode bigger wider than
the rest of the numbers, i never seen it on RTF tube before ( ZM1020 by
Tesla have that too, and many more tubes im sure). Ive also noticed that
the envelope is more sperical than the other tubes. There is also one (the
only one i have) Z5600M i have from before, for comparison, it seems to
have the same envelope, but the numbers are thick as with the common
versions of Z560M, and it has the normal *4*. Other thing i found was that
both Z5600M and the fully coated Z560M dont have the round getter anywhere
inside them.
But why im posting all this, *im not able to light up the fully coated Z560M
* (and yet the half coated tubes work fine, so does the Z5600M). I cant see
any crack in the envelope whatsoever, nor any signs of burned wires inside.
The tube looks 100% fine, i just cant light it up! I havent tried to run it
on higher voltage than 180V though. Does anybody know what could be the
problem? The only thing i though of was some long time outgasing due to the
lack of the getter, but i dont think thats the problem since the Z5600M
works just fine without it. Any information about the tube would be highly
appreciated.
