Gad, I feel old.  I've USED that model of survey meter.  There is a
variant that was made by Nuclear Chicago that used dekatrons for the
last two digits and then vertical neon counter modules for the rest.
This is the type with 10 neon lamps behind numbered film.

We  had one at the first nuclear plant I worked at that was an automatic
planhette (held paper smear sample discs).  Using all transistor logic
(no ICs), it rotated a plachette under the detector, counted it and then
output the result to a printer.  The printer consisted of a mechanical
adding machine with a solenoid over every key.  A fascinating thing to
watch but a b*tch to repair.
