May be you also can search the internet for ceramic beads 

For short I obtained a Philips print with nixies, where they used small
glass beads as stand-off's for components. Clever and cheap !

Some places have a local Shop that deals with ceramic crafts, they mayhave a
Kiln that they could bake your washers in, or put you in contact with
someone who has one they would willing to rent the use of. 
  The shop would also have the right slip
