When it comes to Tektrronix scopes they don't come any better IMHO. However I have no experience with the 2212. The 475 is a real nice scope. I own one and love it. I think for general use around the home or lab any of the 4xx series are good scopes. I've used many of them without problems and they go for around the same price. Dennis
