The giant nixies were the visitor counters. I used to love going there, it was a technology showcase owned by Philips. Currently it is a conference center once the visitor rate fell below the sustainable level. There are a number of reasons why that happened, and probably in no small part because the displays did not change much. Too bad though, I have great memories going there on school trips.

Yeah, Evoluon is a futuristic science museum in Eindhoven. Lots of really cool things to look at, including the giant neon "nixie tubes".
