Welcome! I'm guessing the missing part is really a GR32. > i have not got the schematic yet, but when i do hopefully things will become > clearer, The silkscreen calls out the functions of the thyratrons, which should help (the missing GR32 is marked "LÖSCH" and "RESET", and the others are "PIN SE..." and "MAGN", "..LATCH", etc.). Was it really removed, or was this a function that wasn't used in this version, and the parts for it were never installed in the first place? A quick look at the other side should show whether parts had been unsoldered there. I'm guessing the missing resistor and diode were associated with it. The red discs are marked VDR, so they're voltage-dependent resistors. I don't know what the big rectangular metal objects are, but I'm guessing they're either relays or slide switches. Since I don't see actuators for them, and thyratrons are often used to energize relays, I'm guessing they're relays. That's pretty ugly, but you should be able to dope out what the power supply is supposed to produce, given the output of the current mess, and the fact that it has a couple of 0A2 regulators in it.
