What are You about to measure? What scope do You have? If You are a common
hobbyist starting up then dispose of the plans for a bench multimeter. What
You really need is a scope. Doing electronics without one is like trying to
fix a clockwork with a blindfold put on. There are many good scopes
available as used for nice prices. An analog one with CRT and 100MHz+
bandwidth is a good choice. Tektronix and HP/Agilent made excellent analog
CRT scopes that are now available as used for a reasonable price when sold
out in favour of modern LCD screen digital replacements.
