Gotta make one with a bunch of NE2's.......the trick is to multiplex it 
such that both electrodes glow.
Not challenging enough to do it with a dot-matrix (aka pinball machine) 
panel.

I did something similar last year for a clock: The "hands" are actually 
strings of NE-2 bulbs (36 in all), for a total of 306 bulbs.
It's rather bright when everything lights-up for the lamp-test.
