I've heard of a lot of explanations for the name Nixie, like the ones 
above, but I have never seen it written in any Burroughs document and since 
it is quite common to use ordinary words and fit a project or product name 
to that word I thought it might be possible that people working at 
Burroughs had heard this story and then decided to use those words for 
products. It would be nice if some document could pop up that someone who 
was involved at Burroughs had written on this subject!
